On freebsd ports, IO-Socket-INET6 was listed as a dependency, and, prior to freebsd 7.3 it didn't cause any problems on non INET6 enabled systems. Also, freebsd amd64 7.3 systems did not experience the problems. A patch has been sent to maintainer of amavisd-new for freebsd, but if you reached this email archive by googling for problems that include SpamAssassin delays with 'dbg: dns: no ipv6' in the debug output, then you could remove the INET6 perl module: pkg_delete -f p5-IO-Socket-INET6\* Mark: any idea why we asked for the IO-Socket-INET6 perl module to be a dependency on amavisd-new? did it do something 'better' then the IO-Socket pm that is used as a fallback? -- Michael Scheidell, CTO o: 561-999-5000 d: 561-948-2259 ISN: 1259*1300 >*| *SECNAP Network Security Corporation * Certified SNORT Integrator * 2008-9 Hot Company Award Winner, World Executive Alliance * Five-Star Partner Program 2009, VARBusiness * Best in Email Security,2010: Network Products Guide * King of Spam Filters, SC Magazine 2008 ______________________________________________________________________ This email has been scanned and certified safe by SpammerTrap(r).
