Good evening all

We have been running Postfix/Cyrus/Amavis on CentOS for over 10 years.

Now we are faced with upgrading from CentOS 5 due to EOL. Choices are CentOS 6 and 7. Comments as to best choice would be greatly appreciated.

Centos6 EOL is ~8 years away.

CentOS-6 updates until November 30, 2020

Even sooner. 2.8 years before it shuts down.
?
it is more then 3 years from now.

Not a time to move to Centos 6.

It depends on your company policy, there are companies replacing servers every 3-4 years, and there are companies
run servers till they die ;-)

The OP ran Centos 5 for 'over 10 years'. Sounds like they are one to stay on something that works for the long haul. That is no longer Centos 6. We see its EOL.
