Hello fellow ambits (or ambitters? or maybe ambitarians perhaps?) Having fairly recently discovered hundreds of msgs in our junk mail folder from <ambit> (oops!), we would like to belatedly introduce ourselves to the list :-)
And now that we have reconfigured our mail filter to let ambit through, we're looking forward to participating in this community. best wishes, Jon & Alison ... Jon Thomson & Alison Craighead [that's us] have been working with video and sound for the last nine years or so but more recently we've been looking ar the Internet as a place to site some of our work. Alot of our webstuff tends to manipulate existing data rather than adding to what is an already burgeoning database. We've also been taking an [it seems] increasingly anthropological stance when drawing from the webss emergent culture. Jon studied for a PGdip in Electronic Imaging at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee and currently lectures at The Slade School of Fine Art in London. Alison studied painting at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee and is currently a researcher into web specific art [whatever that means :-)] at the University of Westminster and also lectures at The Ruskin School of Drawing and Painting in Oxford. Recently, we've shown at Mobile Home, London, San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art in California, and at Tate Britain. Our next show is at the Photographers Gallery in London, then we have a solo exhibition of work at V2 in Rotterdam, Holland and in 2002 we'll be launching http://www.dot-store.com You can view our webwork and some documentation of other stuff by pointing at http://www.thomson-craighead.net _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp ------------------------------------------------- a m b i t : networking media arts in scotland post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] info: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and write "info ambit" in the message body -------------------------------------------------
