Dear Ambit subscribers, As a few other people have given their two penneth intros, I thought I would join the gang and do the same. I don't recognise that many names on this list, so that's my main reason for doing this. If shameless publicity offends thee, then pass on this mail !
I am a great supporter in the sharing of information and openness and all that stuff and don't feel as if all these digital creatives are weakened by this, so I am all for the network - the only problem is I will have to sort out my junk mail folder so that ambit's mails do not land right next to porn junk mail. Firstly I think the idea of this list is great and I am surprised it hasn't been done before, so here we go. My name is Chris Dooks and I live in Stockbridge Edinburgh. I am 30. For those of you who have seen Amelie, this will make sense : Chris likes : Apple mac G4s, cubase, premiere, peak, itunes, www.bip-hop.com, bovine life, sogyal rinpoche, filming killer whales in st kilda, redbush tea, wolfgang voigt, david shrigley (imagine the green is red), wim mertens, Janek Schaefer, The film Dead Man and abusing Imovie (the most underrated piece of software in the world) compassionate and humble folks, and the edinburgh floatarium (even though it is overpriced). Chris hates : logic audio (I know it's supposed to better but I cannae get intae it), uncreatively written software (we are not all programmers you know), computer addiction, my immune system, local television, bad diet in Scotland, football, microsoft word, aesthetic snobbery (I am guilty of this) and the assumption that quicker always means better - oh and the fact that in stockbridge there is a real problem with getting a variety of vegetables, but I reckon those living in Eigg have a worse time with veggie choice. Quick 18 point bio (if anyone has read this far and wants the entire CV you can have it as a pdf !!!) : 1. Born in the North East of England.
