relatively recently begun the process of being a maker, living in
process, rather than as consumer, being processed, with a passionate
though not exclusive emphasis on sculpting aural cinematix

artist is a label i have yet to become comfortable with due in part to
my small-steel-town roots ‘n cultcha, and, the numerous
stars-in-their-i-i-i wannabe's who currently sicken with their gutless
oh-so-radical conformity

6.17 Havana in Ninety (UK,2001, 3m) A look at Old Havana, declared World

6.20 Funclub (Funclubbers UK, 2001, 1m) A hidden camera follows a man
exercising his consumers rights
6.21 Say no to Leonard Chesire (Outside Centre, UK, 2m) A response to
charity advertising.
6.24 Daily News (Marko Batista Slovenia 4m) A film about differences,
politicians, protests and the great speeches!!!
6.29 Dialogue (Mathew Etches ,Canada,2001)
A short film that explores how identities are created, and how one woman
chooses to take an active role in her own identity.
6.40 The Conversation Stops (Lolita Stewart-White & Cheryl
Whitehead,US.2001) Claims of racism, sexual harassment and homophobia
encircle the Lechner Corporation.
7-8pm Genoa  No Answers (Stephano Lorenzi Italy 2001, 1h) An independent
production which aims to set the record straight after the barrage of
state and capitalist anti-protestor propaganda which followed the
violence in late July 2001. This is an Italian film and is translated in
subtitles.
8.10-9pm George Monbiot  talk on globalisation, protest and corporate
takeover

7.25 Seconds Away (Helen Mason ,UK, 2001, 3m) British drivers regularly
break the speed limit on all cases of roads, at all times of the day and

7.28 The Occupation (Year Zero UK, 2001, 16m) An imaginative and
formally inventive documentary about the gentrification and (supposed)
regeneration of the East End of London.
7.44 Academy for Plumbers (Simon Green ,UK, 2001, 14m) A pale faced man
embarks on his first day at the Academy for Plumbers. A subterranean
moss infested hovel, where students are clad in dirty overalls and oily
faces. Programmed by a monstrous instructor, it is a tale about gravity
and air, a surreal journey unbound by time, of a mans quest for freedom.
8pm Area K (Nadav Harel & Ramon Bloomberg US, 2001, 52m) Between the
signing of the Oslo accord in 1991 and the recent Al Aksa intifada, a
Palestinian fishing clan from Gaza strikes a deal with Israeli settlers
to enable them to fish in Israeli waters. What follows is an
unprecedented story of co-existence through mutual need and the
universal language of the sea.
