Friday 22nd March 2002 Dear Friend, On Tuesday 26th February 2002 I was unanimously found guilty by a jury of twelve in Croydon Crown Court, Great Britain, of having a bladed article in a public place without good reason. I am due to appear again on 5th April 2002 for sentencing. It is possible that I could go to Jail for up to two years. I represented myself during the trial, which was probably the hardest thing I have done in my life. I was treated like an exotic animal that once captured should be examined and then dissected. During the trial and judge�s summing up I was accused of being a fantasist and that I have made everything up about my life as an artist. My mental health is also in doubt. A report will now be compiled on me by the Probation Service investigating whether I am really who and what I claim to be. This report will be presented to the judge before sentencing. I am currently facing the possibility of prison, curfew with electronic tagging, monetary fine, or community service as forms of punishment for basically having a pocket knife. I am currently seeking letters of reference (on headed note paper preferably) which confirm and detail some or all of the following: - Who I am - What I do - How I live - How and why I use multi-tools and blades in my work - Why it would not be in the public interest to send me to jail - Who you are - What you do - Your professional position - How you know me You could help me greatly.
