The DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS has been extended to MONDAY 22nd APRIL 2002. If accepted for selection we will need your BETA PAL exhibition tape by Monday 13th MAY 2002. Darklight submissions will be processed on-line and applications can be made through the entry form available on the site. The ENTRY FORM, CONDITIONS and INSTRUCTIONS are available on the site@ http://www.darklight-filmfestival.com FILMS Eligible for entry are feature films, documentary, all CG animation, Flash, 3D etc., experimental video works, music videos, commercial work, motion graphics, game sequences, DV live action shorts and student work. There are no restrictions on genre, length or number of submitted works. Darklight encourages the submission of contemporary works that demonstrate and explore the creative potential of digital technologies. The entries must use some sort of digital process in their production. For entry level we accept only VHS (NTSC or PAL), QuickTime and MPEG on CD, DVD or zip disk at preview quality - (approx. 320 x 240), or as a URL pointing to your movie. There is an entry fee for the first time this year of 10 EUROS or 10US$ but there are concessions for students and unemployed, so please send in your work, any donation are welcome. Darklight Touring Programme. April 2002: Darklight Directors Nicky Gogan and Sue Patterson will be presenting films at the DIGITAL WEEKEND Micro-festival of Digital Culture Sofia 2002, Bulgaria. A MICRO-FESTIVAL OF DIGITAL CULTURE SOFIA 2002 curated by Iliyana Nedkova WHERE: Studio 7, National Academy of Arts, Sofia WHEN: 12-14 April 2002 All Events are FREE and open to the public Your guide to the digital arts and culture of the 21st Century featuring exciting new digital art projects by Bulgarian and international artists including film screenings, Internet audio streaming, lectures and talks. This year's DIGITAL WEEKEND is the first of a series of art and technology events, bringing together the Red House Centre for Culture and Debate, Sofia and New Media Scotland, Edinburgh. This new partnership takes place in the unprecedented climate of increased interest towards digital culture in Bulgaria and the rising need for furthering the critical debate across the country. CLONE Digital Film Festival is an annual film festival, held in H�meenlinna, Finland. Festival will focus on films which have been made in digital format exclusively. Contributors were asked to examine the words Ownership, Networks, Sharing, Re-usability & Control and the issues they suggest, to work to an exploratory agenda which this year was set by Darklight Perspectives, a conference dealing with issues of ownership and distribution of content online.
