FREEFLOW: An exhibition of the Young People's Art Project You are invited to: Freeflow Closing Event and Artist's Discussion Saturday 15th June from 2pm - 4.30 pm.
The discussion will include contributions from Freeflow artists: Adinda Van't Klooster, Roxane Permar, Iain Piercy and Inigo Garrido and will be chaired by Chris Byrne from New Media Scotland. An exhibition of the Young People's Art Project 1st - 16th June 2002 Mon - Sun 12noon - 6pm 'Freeflow' is an exhibition showcasing the results of an ambitious and unique range of collaborative projects which have taken place over the past two years between Artists and Young People. Coordinated by Scottish Natural Heritage, the projects have been supported by various organisations including the Scottish Arts Council Lottery Fund, the Forestry Commission, the Marine Conservation Society, the Millennium Forest for Scotland Trust, the RSPB, SEPA, Esso and Shell. The main aim of the project has been to engage disadvantaged young people in understanding and appreciating the woodland and marine environments, through the use of arts activities which genuinely appeal to them. The use of new technologies has been a crucial aspect of this engagement, and the input of the artists involved has resulted in a huge variety of approaches. Added to this has been the importance of location, with participating groups covering the length and breadth of Scotland, from Orkney, Shetland and the Outer Hebrides, to Aberdeen, and Glasgow.
