s.u.n.Arts is putting together an all-female digital animation show to be
part of Digital Dumbo to be titled My Computer/ Our Computer. We are looking
for female animators as well as female writings about their use of the
computer.
To tell you a little about s.u.n.Arts- we were established in 2000 to fill a
void in the underground art scene. We curate shows (both online and on the
wall), have a new publication called Art Trash, support artist’s products
through our online boutique and are very supportive of female art. This show
will be our third show dedicated solely to female art.
The reason for this show, is that there is simply not enough female digital
art being shown. By gathering works together, they can act together to
create a fully formed answer to question- do woman do digital art?
The work can be either new or something old that you’d like to show in this
new context. It can be any length and subject matter. If you would like to
submit, a link to any past or in progress work would be great as well as a
few sentences about why you are interested in the show. Please pass this
along to anyone you think would be interested.
Thank you.

About Digital Dumbo:
“………..Maybe that is why the Digital DUMBO Festival was so popular this
year. DUMBO stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Underpass. The annual
three-day festival features a series of events that showcase digital arts and
the creative businesses located in an old industrial area nestled between the
Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges along the East River in New York City. This
unique community is filled with creative energy and is home to both
established and emerging artists and businesses, including the Smack Mellon
Studio. The Digital DUMBO Festival showcases technology and art coming
together in a community that provides a means for talented artists,
producers, and designers to expose their own interpretations of digital art.
During the festival, businesses and retail establishments open their doors to
demonstrate creative uses of technology through Macromedia Flash animation,
digital video, and streaming. "It's a great time," says Shostrom. "It's such
a relaxed atmosphere, and you can go into all these great shops and
galleries. It's fun," she adds.”
