Hi everyone Just wanted to let you know that our box office won't be ready for booking for the MAX/MSP course until next Wednesday, so best if you call then (0141 252 4900), there has been a lot of advance interest so please book early to avoid disappointment. In particular there will be limited places for people without computers, as we are encouraging participants to bring their own computers (the advantage is that you will have the current version of MAX / MSP installed on your computers so can use it to develop work outside of the workshop setting). Please find further details and session outlines below.
MAX/MSP NIGHT SCHOOL Real-time interactive and generative programming for artists Mondays 21 October, 4, 18 November, 2, 16 December, 6.30pm CCA Club Room 40/30 Tutor: Martin Parker MAX/MSP is currently the world's leading software for interactive sound installations, allowing individuals to build their own custom environments beyond the rigidity of common computer tools. Used by musicians, composers, improvisers, sound artists, and installation designers MAX/MSP has been applied to interactive algorithmic music and image generation, interactive art installations, live performance systems, and multimedia application prototyping. Organised by Sonic Arts Network this course aims to unlock new territories for artists with little experience of computer programming, and runs in two phases. Phase one offers a series of five sessions for beginners with an emphasis on structured learning. Areas of tuition include the MAX/MSP environment; synthesizing sound in MAX/MSP; audio processing; midi control; interactive and generative processes. Computer literacy is assumed for the course as is experience of working in digital audio. This course is supported by Cycling 74. Sonic Arts Network gratefully acknowledges financial support from the PRS Foundation. Rough Outline of Course PHASE 1 1 - What's it all about? I'ts actually quite accessible once you get the hang of what's going on... and you can interface with flash through xml so it can bridge screen happenings with offscreen environmental triggers and/or sensors. so ~i think I'll sign up... regards from ciderland, G --------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through http://www.easynetdial.co.uk ------------------------------------------------- a m b i t : networking media arts in scotland post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] info: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and write "info ambit" in the message body ------------------------------------------------- intY has scanned this email for all known viruses (www.inty.com) intY has scanned this email for all known viruses (www.inty.com) ------------------------------------------------- a m b i t : networking media arts in scotland post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] info: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and write "info ambit" in the message body -------------------------------------------------
