Imaginative Film Makers required to produce digital video programme notes for dialogues 2002.
THE IDEA - is to present information about the performers and the music they will play in dialogues, a festival of new music and digital media happening in Edinburgh from 22nd 30th October 2002. Editing and artistic dimensions are yours entirely:- It may be possible to use the editing suite of Stills Gallery for the purpose of preparing your film alternatively there will be a firewire G4 available running Adobe Premiere and a cannon XM1 digital video camera. Use of your own equipment is preferred. You will be credited but not paid so this call will be of interested to artists who want to produce a portfolio piece and get public credit for their work. You will also be able to leave your calling card at the concert and there will be opportunities to meet the audience after the shows at partys and in the hall. The notes will also be included in our festival documentation and posted on the internet (compressed). The programme notes we need: SPUNK - Norwegian Free improvisation ensemble. Quartet of four female musicians arrive at Edinburgh Airport on Wednesday afternoon, 23rd October. Need a programme note about them in Quicktime format by 6pm Thursday 24th in time for concert at 8pm in Adam House, Chambers Street. Paragon Ensemble: Scotland's Premiere New Music Ensmeble play an hour of brand new works for instruments and live electronics - including Daniel Williams and Peter Dowling. Rehearsing in Edinburgh from Monday the 21st October-Wed 23rd in St Cecillia's Hall 5pm-8pm, Cowgate. Concert on Friday 25th October 8pm Adam House. Deadline for programme note Thursday Morning 24th October in QT format. Their conductor, John Harris is willing to make interview and so are composers. Need three notes - one for each piece. 20 seconds each. Tiroler Ensmble for New Music. Crazy players from Austria play new music by G�nther Zechberger, David Revill and Colin Broom. Ensemble arrive at Edinburgh Airport on Wednesday 23rd OCtober. Concert on Sat 26th October 7:30pm, Adam house, Chambers Street. Need two programme notes 30 seconds long. Composers, Players all willing to be interviewed, filmed during rehearsal, at airport, in pub etc. Deadline Saturday morning 26th October 10am. The conditions are difficult so the ablility to work to a deadline is essential as is familiarity with digital video image editing software (Adobe Premiere or imovie, mac OS9) Format Details - The films should arrive on CD presented in QT format with sound.
