Benbecula artists go to church

Benbecula is the tour de force Scottish electronica and experimental record
label.

Christ. and Reverbaphon, amongst other Benbecula artists, will perform at
the next (and so far rare) Benbecula evening, taking place at the new music
venue, The Commplex, in Leith. Formerly known as Club Java, this converted
church provides a unique atmosphere within which to experience these
soul-enchanting performances.

Christ. has recently released his debut EP "Pylonesque" to worldwide
acclaim, and in the summer of 2002, set off for a mini tour of Japan,
headlining at the 30,000 strong Mount Fuji Festival. Christ has had regular
radio airplay including numerous appearances on the BBC's John Peel show.
Christ. elevates live music to a higher level taking you with him into a
world of musical genius, engulfing you with an eerie glow of warmth and
beauty. Expect some surprises. His new album is due out in February 2003.

Reverbaphon releases his debut EP The Medium thru which sound travels is no
longer present on Benbecula records in January 2003. He will be performing
previously unheard material. Reverbaphons freestyle and uninhibited take
on electronica, merged with conventional instrumentation, is a refreshing
diversion from the preset laptop sounds of todays homogenous electronic
releases.

Operator is currently recording an EP for Benbecula with release date in
Spring 2003. A recent debut showcase of new material was only a small
indication of his ability.

Benbecula is Scotland's best electronic and avant-garde record label,
producing luminous music, both unique and breathtaking. The label started in
1999 as a CDR web page outfit. Distributor interest resulted in the first
limited vinyl release Music Volume One which took pride of place in the
Hardwax top ten for two months. Worldwide acclaim began with the release of
the Music Volume Two for its diversity and quality control, with each
incomparable track being an anthem in its own right.
