Hello, I've just joined this list and Chris asked me to introduce
myself.

I'm Chris Hand, and I've been living in Edinburgh for 4 years. My
background is in computing (10 years lecturing multimedia/Internet
type stuff), but a couple of years ago I quit full-time teaching to
spend time on my own projects and to reflect on the nature of being
skint.

Since then I've mostly been writing electronic music and
drumming/performing with various groups, including Beltane-related
events, local arts company te POOKa (www.tepooka.org), and (up until
about 10 days ago) 8-piece drum and bass combo Weird Attractors
(www.weirdattractors.org.uk).  I'm a bit of a learning junkie too;
over the last year or so I've squeezed in an art & design foundation
course, evening classes at Edinburgh Mediabase, and a 2-month stint
in Berlin learning German.

Recently I've been changing direction again, getting into digital
video stuff (mainly Premiere and After Effects), and re-discovering
my fascination with animation, particularly "old school" lightbox-and-
pencils stuff. I'd be particularly interested in hearing from other
animators out there. I've also been working more closely with te
POOKa, writing the soundtrack for the show they took to Glastonbury
in the summer, and producing a promotional video and CD-ROM for them.

<plug>I'm open to offers of work -- teaching, sound design,
multimedia, whatever.</plug> :-)

Talk to me about...
soundforge, sacred geometry, spd-11 'octapad', manchester, acid,
language learning, tcp/ip, brazilelectro, fruity loops, commodore
pet, reason, samba, klee, php, midi triggers, bongo club, typography.

I might ask You about...
max, dvd authoring, video projections, funding!

Chris
