'I am a Camera'

MU art foundation, De Witte Dame (former Philips factory), Eindhoven.

'I am a Camera' is an exhibition about 'non-photos'. Anti-photos, far from
'mainstream art-photos'. 70 artists from all over Europe and The United
States participate.

Exhibition period: 23 January 2003 - 12 February 2003

'Belfast Songs'

Belfast Songs is a book and CD edited by Factotum, will be a number of
writer's thoughts on songs written about Belfast.The songs range from
historical folk songs such as the Ballad of William Bloat (about a murderer
on the Shankill road and the Linen industry) to recent pop songs Through the
Barricades by Spandau Ballet, taking in Stiff Little Fingers, James Taylor,
Boney M, Elton John and Van Morrison on the way. Discover some long
forgotten punk classics (like Belfast Telegraph by Shock Treatment) and the
real meaning of Belfast Cowboys by Pretty Things.

Contributors include: Leontia Flynn, Paul Muldoon, John Gray, Colin Graham,
om lekha, Stuart Watson, Suzanna Chan, Martin McLoone, Will Bradley, Glenn
Patterson, Richard West, Aaron Kelly, Chris Magee, Daniel Jewesbury.

With the book in the same slipcase will be a CD. Thirteen contemporary
musicians, both local and international, have been asked to remix 14 Belfast
Songs, providing a musical interpretation and re-evaluation to go alongside
the essays.

Musicians: Seamus Harahan, VVM, Janskey Noise, Evolution Control Committee,
Matt Wand, Janek Schaffer, Barry Cade, Barry Cullen, Diskono ,Alan Hughes,
Darren in Japan, Harald Ziegler, D.J Twitch, Torsten Lauschmann.

Launch: Menagerie Bar 8.00pm Friday 31st January 2003.

At the launch a Juke box jury will take place where the original Belfast
songs are played to a panel of musicians, critics and writers who will give
their opinion (hit or miss).

The CD will be launched along with live performances by Barry Cullen (Dodgy
Stereo)  and Matt Wand formally of Stock Hausen and Walkman and currently
incarnated as 'Small Rocks' and director of Hot Air Records.
