> Industries Quarter. It offers open access to people with a range of
> knowledge and experience of technology, in particular we target the

> creative or artistic way, encouraging them through a combination of
> workshops, individual support and creative activities to develop and
> increase their skills and confidence.
>
> We are looking for an artist to develop ideas for a digital arts
> project, using the recycled/reclaimed "redundant" technology and
> open-source software available in Access Space.
>
> After a successful audio-based residency during November 2002,
> the successful proposal for this will contain a strong visual
> element.

> The aims of the residency are:
>

>
> To offer the users of Access Space an introduction to the creative
> process of making new work
>
>
> The Residency
>
> The successful applicant will get the opportunity to work for a 10
> day period (or 80 hour equivalent) in Access Space's open environment,
> during April 2003, with some technical support and advice. As part
> of the residency the artist will run a 2 hour long open workshop
> session and an informal presentation for Access Space users and
> members of the public, as well as documenting the process in the form
> of an online diary.
>
> The Fee
> A fee of 1,000 will be offered to the successful applicant, subject
> to the successful completion of the residency. Reasonable travel and
> accommodation expenses will be paid where appropriate.
>
