I don't think that's what the organisers said at all. Most of what I've
seen says "the biggest ant-war demo in years" or somesuch. Not the
biggest in Scotland EVER. Admittedly, we're all too young to remember
"Red Clydeside" and socialists like John MacLean, but even disregarding
age when demonstrations were really huge events, I'm pretty sure there
were bigger demos during the Cold War and maybe even before the last
Gulf War. As for "facts", did you count the demonstrators yourself? If
not, then how can you back up your claim?

there are two thoughts here - either, that was an incredibly unsubtle
attempt to prove the spiral of chaos to bullshit a list can enter into
in the midst of heated debates blah blah ...
