LabCulture PVA MediaLab is pleased to announce that the guidelines are now available for the next round of the LabCulture Residency Programme. This year the LabCulture scheme has been developed to provide both ACCESS and PRODUCTION labs. Each ACCESS lab is based on our tried and trusted format which introduces key tools to artists and encourages a new pilot project to be made within an intensive week. The PRODUCTION labs focus on research and development of a new work.
LabCulture offers artists from a wide range of disciplines the opportunity to develop new work and enhance skills. The programme is facilitated through active partnerships with UK arts organisations and aims to stimulate diverse practice and collaboration. The week long labs offer an intensive period to engage with new tools and work within a critical environment. The focus is on production of new material and time out from regular work. Deadline: 5pm on Wednesday 25 June 2003. Places offered cover full board but do not include travel.
Check out http://www.pva.org.uk for more information. LabCulture is open submission and anyone resident in the UK can apply, other than those who have previously attended. For an artist's impression of LabCulture read Fiona Hamilton's experiences on our web site at http://www.pva.org.uk/forestlab/fiona.htm
E-lab PVA has facilitated two education labs in Dorset and Cornwall. Work from these can be seen at http://www.pva.org.uk/e-lab and http://www.pva.org.uk/e-lab/cornwall - we continue to seek further educational partners to develop this programme with artists and teachers.
PVA is a partner in matrix which is seeking 5 Professional Development Co-ordinators to deliver advice and guidance services to Creative Industries practitioners in the south west, across 5 locations - Bristol, Devon, Dorset, Gloucestershire, Somerset.
