Title: archiving and event
archiving is a huge area to think about: I think there has to be a parallel thought every time a successful search is done- namely what is NOT online?
the divide between academically trained researchers and the rest of us can't be allowed to widen.
Anyway have a look at this:

The website below describes (in rather technical terms) a project that provides a means of linking historical events on the web so that you can follow a pictorial view of events that links to rich content about those events. (Karen Wilder picked this up at the recent Atlantic University Computing Technology Conference). It takes a bit to browse through, but the cool thing is that the project is very open - i.e. welcomes you to use the code for free and build your own versions. It can also integrate graphics and pictures. Might be a creative idea to enhance the Humanities McConnell project. Might also be an idea for a future AITT student project or teaching innovation fund to enhance your course.
Have a look when you have a moment. Thanks for passing this along Karen.
