We are putting on the Independent Heroines film festival at THe Cube Cinema in AUGUST THIS YEAR. any suggestions for programming/ speakers are walmly welcomed... all the bestest http://www.ladyfestbristol.org Lady Lucy ADYFEST BRISTOL & THE CUBE CINEMA present an open screening as part of the INDEPENDENT HEROINES feminist film festival AUGUST 11th- 17th 2003 at THE CUBE CINEMA, BRISTOL. LADYSCREEN Putting a female slant on the regular Bluescreen events at the Cube, Ladyscreen is an open screening for all short (under 30 minutes) vhs/dvd/dv/hi-8/super-8/16mm/35mm/beta film and video work by ladies, women and girls. As part of the Independent Heroines film festival, a collaboration between Ladyfest Bristol and The Cube Cinema, Ladyscreen offers an unique opportunity to share your work, and see other lady-made films, all in the context of a feminist film festival. We are particularly interested in work that deals with the female experience, be it social, physical, emotional, political, spiritual, creative, or cultural, but... anything goes. Submissions should reach us as soon as possible, at the latest by Friday August 1st, and be accompanied by any relevant written material, although filmmakers are encouraged to come along and introduce/discuss their work. Selected submissions will be screened at Ladyscreen events between Monday August 11th and Sunday August 17th at the Cube Cinema. Filmmakers will be notified of screening dates and times by Friday August 8th. Please provide as many contact details as possible so we can keep you informed. Ladyfest Bristol is a celebration of women?s music, film, performance and art from Bristol and beyond; as well as a positive space for discussion, investigation and education. Ladyfest is a not-for-profit organisation, with all proceeds from the festival going to local women?s charities.
