Under-represented Voices/Stories

A half-day forum Lancaster Film & New Media Festival
www.lancaster-film-festival.co.uk

Saturday 12th July 1.30pm-8.00pm

The Dukes Theatre, Moor Lane, Lancaster

The moving image has the potential to transform individuals and societies
by expressing and advocating for marginalised voices and stories, bringing
hidden things to light. Voices and stories that might otherwise be unheard,
forgotten or dismissed: these could be stories defined by gender, race,
ethnicity or location. Lancashire and Cumbria is the Northern hinterland on
the UK Film Industry, a place on the edges, filled with stories and rich
with voices, many if whom have yet to be heard. The festival is set to
showcase and celebrate some of these voices. This panel seeks to explore
work that supports this aim throughout the industry.
