Hi all, Just like to say that I didn't see it as a slap in the wrist, but it could have been taken that way- at first- though Chris pretty quickly followed up with some other stuff from Nettime etc. This forwarding stuff is rightly an interesting cultural phenomenon and one which is worthwhile.
I *do* like Catriona's idea of allowing 'leaks' into Ambit from other feeds when appropriate. Nothing like 'overhearing' what other interesting people are doing. It's nice that Chris has followed this with stuff from nettime. I like the idea that people forward interesting, odd, or scary stuff to ambit if it might be interesting (a Belgian collaborator who is into RFID tags and their import in a big way forwards me the odd scary stuff from US Defence listservs- turn your hair white, some of it). And the moderation is hardly tough- flames generally get through if they have a point to make and generally we are spared on ambit the usual spam... no bad thing. alan p.s. I'm selling a number of viagra products/ degrees from prestigious non-accredited universities/ 'work at home' schemes should anyone be interested. p.p.s. A Nigerian friend of mine would like help in transferring some money- anyone interested please mail me. ------------------------------------------------- a m b i t : networking media arts in scotland post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] archive: http://www.mediascot.org/ambit info: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and write "info ambit" in the message body -------------------------------------------------
