20.10.03 - 02.11.03 Workshop 30.10.03 - 02.11.03 Public Access to the Backup Lounge
_XOR_ is tech talk for the exclusive _or_, meaning either or - but never
both. This years .lounge|lab used this logical condition as the backdrop
of its two week workshop with international digital artists in Weimar,
Germany. _Testing Truth _ XOR_ attempts to probe the notion of fact and
fake in relation to digital arts. Organised as a collaborative workshop,
six international artists were working on site for nearly two weeks _ a
practice which is exceptional in the fast circus of arts events as common
these days.
This year the .lounge|lab sees its second year as an experimental media
laboratory, accompanying the backup festival. Situated in the former
street car depot next to the main location of the event, the E-Werk, the
.lounge|lab not only provides the social space for the entire festival
where artists, film makers, organisers and the audience meet, it also
provides an experimental social canvas for a group of international
artists invited to work and perform within and beyond this location.
Below you find a list of participants and scheduled events. Check the website for a CCTV stream from the location (starting Fri. 31.10.03).
