Scottish Sculpture Workshops: International Residency Centre

New Post of Residency Programme Curator

Salary : 18 - 22k
Deadline for applications: 23rd January 2004.

SSW wishes to appoint an experienced visual arts specialist to this key role
within the new team, to make a significant contribution to developing and
implementing the international residency programme.

This is a unique opportunity to operate professionally at an international
level from a base in beautiful rural North East Scotland.

SSW has a long established history, operating as an open access residential
sculpture workshop for over 20 years. During this time it has built on its
international connections and attracted artists from throughout the UK and
all over the world.
Following a fundamental re-examination of the organisation SSW has secured
substantial funding through the Scottish Arts Council Advancement Programme
to implement a programme of change and deliver a new vision. Joining the new
Director and administrative staff, the Residency Programme Curator will
complete the core team.

Building on experience to date, where the focus has been on artists and the
creative process, our aim is to create a vibrant international visual arts
residency centre where a curated programme of residencies will create new
opportunities for practice, debate, collaboration and research.
