STILLS Education Programme - Call for Artists

This is a Creative Digital Imaging and New Technology
Project, leading to alternative exhibition
interpretation materials - involving young people from
ethnic minority backgrounds.� This project is linked
to the art and science of genetics, a forthcoming
Stills exhibition in spring 2004. Exhibiting artists
include Christine Borland, Gair Dunlop, Jackie
Donachie and Gina Czarnezki.

Timescale:� February to May 2004

Fee: �1,500 to include project delivery, meetings,
production time and evaluation

Deadline for applications: 8 January 2004

Project Details

Stills would like to commission 3 artists to lead an
innovative digital media project for young people from
ethnic minority backgrounds. The artists will each
work with a different group (4 young people),
delivering the three stages of the project.

�

Artist Specification

Artists leading these projects will be required to
balance their technical and creative skills with the
needs and interests of each group as well as the aims
of the project.�� As well as the necessary creative
and technical skills, we seek artists with:

-������ knowledge of contemporary art practice

-������ an innovative and enthusiastic approach to
developing projects

-������ experience and aptitude for creative project
work with people

-������ an interest/understanding in the
interpretation of art and generating new forms of
interpretation material
