http://www.electrofringe.org/
We would love you to pass this onto anyone who you think may be interested, and also include in your newsletters and email distributions to artists, students and arts organisations.
Electrofringe is a hands-on, all-in new media arts festival dedicated to unearthing emergent forms, highlighting nascent trends and encouraging young and developing artists to explore technology and its creative possibilities.
Electrofringe will take place in Newcastle as part of the "This Is Not Art Festival" from 30 September - 4 October 2004. The directors for 2004 are Gail Priest, Wade Marynowsky and Emma Stewart.
EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST
We are now seeking EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST from new media artists, curators, artsworkers, writers and producers who would like to be involved.
Possible areas for investigation include (but are not limited to) sound, audiovisual, web, game art, wireless, digital communities, software, art &
science, robotics, custom electronics, gestural interfaces and media based installation and performance.
Electrofringe is a skills and arts development festival thus the dominant format consists of panels, workshops and masterclasses. Gigs will be arranged by the This Is Not Art Festival Gigs Coordinators in consultation with the individual festivals with artist drawn from the festival program so please apply with the festival format in mind.
SCREEN WORKS
We will be doing a separate call for screen works for the ElectroProjections program later in 2004 to enable more artists to make work during the year.
STATE REPRESENTATIVE
If you are interested in being an Electrofringe State Representative we would also love you to make contact and tell us which area of new media arts you
would like to contribute to the development of in the Electrofringe 04 program.
Please download and complete the CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS form from http://www.electrofringe.org and email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] by 1st April 2004. We will contact you if we require further information and examples of your work.
