Spiritualism, electronica, and experimental sounds are all in the mix for two programmes of audio from Edinburgh-based artist Chris Dooks.

The Perfection Of Wisdom (The Heart Sutra) - The sound work provides the artist's understanding of the The Heart Sutra mantra and highlights his personal journey of a practicing Buddhist. The audio is an interview between the artist and Pasada, an elderly Edinburgh Buddhist, who is an ordained member of The Friends Of The Western Buddhist Order, one of the largest spiritual communities of its kind in Scotland. This work was previously exhibited as an installation at Stills gallery, Edinburgh, February 2004.

Bovine Life Support System - Chris put out a request in 2003 for Scottish orientated or associated experimental digital musics and sounds for a show on London's Resonance FM. He recorded links in Edinburgh's botanical gardens, complete with animal and bird calls. Bovine Life Support System features work by the following artists: Gaelic Psalm Singers, Isle of Lewis; Life Without Buildings; Mark Vernon; Jock Scott; Adinda van t'Klooster; Lucky Pierre (Aidan Moffat); Future Pilot AKA; Pen Pushers; Emily Jane Egan; Think Tank; Catherine MacDonald; Chris Dooks; NVA / Annie Cheung Droma; Arab Strap; Pub; Calum Stirling; Dissimilar (Al Cook & Jim Norton); Zo Irvine; Avantronica; Nimrod 33 AKA Tormod Mor.
