Ideasfactory Scotland: New Media Writing Workshops

In June and July, trAce Digital Writer-in-Residence Tim Wright will travel throughout Scotland, working with you IDEASFACTORY folk to piece together the mystery of what happened to Oldton, his childhood town. Do you have any information which might help?

What’s it all about?
If you don’t know what new media writing is, now is the time to find out. In collaboration with IDEASFACTORY Scotland, and several local partners, Tim will be showing groups of young people how to use the internet in interesting ways to create pieces of interactive fiction and poetry, with images and sound. This is the first ever tour by new media writer working with the largest online community of writers in the world. We’ll be showing new works, highlighting best practice and demonstrating how to get started as a digital writer. Workshops are free and will take place in the following places:


June
  -  Monday 28th June, 6-8pm, at Paisley University,  Paisley
 - Tuesday 29th June, 2-4pm, Stills Gallery, Edinburgh
 -  Wednesday 30th June, 2-4pm, at University of Abertay, Dundee

July
 - Monday 26th July, 6-8pm, at Peacock Visual Arts, Aberdeen
 - Tuesday 27th July, 2-4pm PICT Innovation Ltd, Alness Point Business Park, Alness IV17 OUP
 - Wednesday 28th July, Lews Castle College, Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis, Western Isles (This will be a virtual workshop using the UHI Millennium Network community access points across the Highlands and Islands. A list of access points being used will be listed here soon.
