I would vote for h2 database, the only requirement it does'nt have is a low jdk support (it needs 1.5) although I find this a minor issue considering amdatu itself needs 1.5. You can find a comparison to other db's here: http://www.h2database.com/html/features.html#comparison
2010/10/22 Ivo Ladage-van Doorn <Ivo.Ladage-vanDoorn at gxsoftware.com> > Hi All, > > > > On the roadmap for 0.0.6 is this issue: > http://jira.amdatu.org/jira/browse/AMDATU-130 > > It describes that currently services that are supposed to be part of the > Amdatu core depend on Cassandra as storage engine. However, as of 0.0.6 > Cassandra becomes an optional package and so the core cannot rely anymore on > the availability of Cassandra. Some simple storage engine needs to be used > to store roles for UserAdmin, configuration for ConfigurationAdmin and > tenants for the tenant service. Now the question is; what storage engine > will we choose? > > There are a lot of (open source) options, most of them described on this > page: http://java-source.net/open-source/database-engines > > The main question however is I think; what do we require from this storage? > > I would suggest: > > > > -1- Very lightweight; small in size, low memory footprint, etc. > > -2- Low software/hardware requirements (i.e. supports Java 1.3) > > -3- Open source and provides a Java API > > -4- A simple web-based GUI would be nice, though not required > > > > What do you think? > > > > Regards, Ivo > > > > GX *|* Ivo Ladage-van Doorn *|** *Product Architect *|* Wijchenseweg 111 * > |* 6538 SW Nijmegen *| *The Netherlands *| *T +31(0)24 - 388 82 61 *|* F > +31(0)24 - 388 86 21 *|* ivo.ladage-vandoorn at gxsoftware.com *| * > www.gxsoftware.com *| *twitter.com/GXSoftware > > > > _______________________________________________ > Amdatu-developers mailing list > Amdatu-developers at amdatu.org > http://lists.amdatu.org/mailman/listinfo/amdatu-developers > > -- Met vriendelijke groeten, Naftali van der Loon | Senior Software Engineer +31 62 372 81 54 Luminis KIS B.V. <http://kis.luminis.eu> Prins Willem Alexanderlaan 715 7311 ST Apeldoorn +31 88 586 46 25 http://kis.luminis.eu http://www.luminis.eu KvK (CoC) 09 14 31 09 BTW (VAT) NL8135.18.556.B.01 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
