Version 5.2 is a good starting point. The changes after its release
are mostly intern. The only user visible change (so far) is that @e[]
is renamed to n@e and has another stack effect. A change for the better
I think.

What has changed (expanded) a lot and will probably continue to change 
is library code. Despite the license battles a lot of people sent me 
their code examples and I'm busy with making them somewhat coherent. 
This requires sometimes a change in the core library code itself. The 
current SPI changes are due to this.

I cannot predict when 5.3 will be released.
