Thanks for the pointer. I'll compare AsForth status with
AmForth-Shadow. Its speed improvement claim is interesting. My solution
to speed, and also for wanting to make certain Forth words atomic (i.e.,
non-interruptible), was to rewrite a good number of words in asm.

Let's see what AsForth developer decides as I see this message on his website:
