I just did a Google on ' java com bridge' and got a good amount of hits.
First one was 'The JACOB Project: A JAva-COM Bridge' at 
http://danadler.com/jacob/ and now moved to SourceForge at 
http://sourceforge.net/projects/jacob-project/

Looks at least active and free - no idea if it suits your purpose though 
- you'll need to check it out
