I think what set off the response you got
was the use of a declarative like that in the subject line. It should
have at least been an interrogative, and probably should *not* have
included the "B-word".
"The developer" is (very rightfully) proud of
his work, and he does get a bit testy sometimes. But then, you pasted
a pejorative declarative like that in the subject line (intent
notwithstanding), which, while completely unproven, might cost him some
money, or time, which is kind of the same thing. We want the developer fat
and content; we don't want this to end up as a subsidiary of Reuters.

Note to TJ: Why not trash the obsolete address in the 'About'
box? You've stated where you want this kind of thing sent, but new
users don't read through all the docs and mailing lists first; they look
at the 'About' box and see an address you consider
obsolete.
