Hi Bob,

The version of COMDLG32.OCX I have on the W2K box is 6.1.97.82 , dtd 3/9/2004.  It is in the folders I indicated, I didn't install it and because there is a copy in the I386 folder, I suspect it came with W2K or an update from somewhere (because of the creation date).  The copy I have on the XP boxes is numbered as is yours.

I do not run BatMan on the Win2K box -- I do most of my work on one of the XP boxes.  I keep a copy of AB on the old Win2K box for odd moments during the trading day when I may want to try coding something if trading is slow.  But that box is my oldest, slowest and likely soon to be retired as it is mostly used for email, word processing, tax and other document storage.  In it's day, it was a cutting edge machine -- but that was almost 5 years ago.  Like dogs, computers age differently than humans; I calculate that it is equivalent to 80+ human years.

If you want, I can send you a copy, but I suspect there are other things that go with it (I see a .dll file with the same name in the system folder as well).  You might see if you have one as well and try copying that between your machines as well.  Good luck.

Patrick,
Are you saying that BatMan runs okay on your win2k box?
I have Version 6.0.84.18 of COMDLG32.OCX  in system32 on a XP Pro and 2 win2k boxes, but get error msg that control can't be created--not properly licensed--on the latter 2.

I suspect the problem is with one or more of the other controls but installed VBRUN60SP5.EXE without joy--probably because I failed to unregister and move something before installing. [See  for example  http://www.angelfire.com/biz/rhaminisys/vboledll.html ].

Am beginning to think that switching to Terry's? script approach might be more fruitful.

Regards,
Bob

Hi Bob,

I believe that file is for an ActiveX Control.  On my W2k box it is in the WINNT\system32 folder.  It may also be in the I386 storage folder as well.  Do a complete check of your box (or the net) and install it in your system folder.

Per Fred, it requires registering ComDlg32.OCX and I don't know where to
start.
I don't use VB5 or 6 and suspect that may be the problem.

Clues much appreciated.

Regards,
Bob
