Try comparing a volume bar to 2 previous bars.

I use Volume > Sum of prior bars * multiplier,  as such criteria.

Depending on time interval used, may use 2, 3, or 4 bars. Also multiplier is
interval dependent.

So need to experiment a bit to gwet results you want.
