Ryan, Apologies, I referred to you as Dave in another EOD data post. I got you mixed up with another 'poster'.
I have done a little more follow up work. I tried a SEED historical and current download and got the error message '404 Not Found'. This is typical for an invalid ticker symbol. SEED is an exception to that rule. >From the Yahoo site SEED does have a chart and a current price quote. It is not an a typical company in that it has not been around a long time and was subject to a major change of some kind in recent history (ownership?). Yahoo doesn't have the full quota of info on SEED. At the historical data page I found that the data was current only up to June7 2006 (as of July 1 Australian time) although the current data is available elsewhere in Yahoo and at other sites (MSN). Interestingly MSN appears to use similar if not identical providers to Yahoo, althoguh I din't follow up on that one. If an attempt is made to use the download to a spreadsheet feature in Yahoo the '404 - error message comes up'. >From that it appears that the source of the error is either within Yahoos historical data section or with the supplier of the HD. So for AB users it is not a case of dirty data; AQ correctly reports it as a company where data is not available. I would be interested to track other examples to see how common this type of error is. Brian. --- In [email protected], Ryan Daniel <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > I am so glad you brought this up.
