I have internet phone service*. No perceived problems. Maximum bandwidth of a voice call is 64 Kbps. They all run with compression so they only use ~8-16 Kbps. Your cable modem should have 2 Mbps or better.

PS: The phone company likes to point out that this 2 Mb is shared bandwidth, but the actual bandwidth of a cable modem was 57 Mbps 5 years ago. It's probably higher than that now…that is the bandwidth you are sharing.

* Sunrocket.com: $199/year including nationwide long distance and all taxes for under $17 per month.

Subject: [amibroker] OT - Internet phones

Does anyone have experience using internet phone service while day trading.

Am concerned that it may take more bandwidth than I can spare ... and interfere with the real time data stream .

Am using AB with eSignal with a cable modem. Will probably never monitor more than 50 issues at a time

TIA
