Hello,
#2 :
User's Guide is your friend.
and you will find that the functionality is already
there.
That's why I am always telling everyone: read entire
TUTORIAL part of the User's guide,
otherwise you miss 80% of the AB functionality.

Charting
Hello
1. The setting up of layouts..repeat layouts
and not watch lists and scrolling through them is very clumsy in AB. One has
to individually load individual layouts by clicking on them-simply using arrow
keys to scroll up/down the layout list wont load them. I am open to correction
here so please correct me if I am wrong.
2. This is the bit that no one
has commented upon but I believe has relevance to use of layouts. If I create
a layout with two windows - one a wekly chart and the other a daily
chart of the same issue, the use of studies is illogical. Let me elaborate
this. The pivots that one would find significant on the weekly shall not
necessarily be the ones, one would like to use on the daily and vice-versa.
However when a study is plotted on either of the two component windows of the
layout it also gets plotted on the other where it may not be relevant to the
time frame used in the window.
Hope someone will look into
it.
Regards
R

Tomasz,
If I would have
made myself clearer, and not as cryptic, I should have said that
the only thing TC2005 has going for itself as far as I am concerned is that
one can scroll through charts fast. NO way did I say faster than
AB. So if you ONLY want to scroll through charts then TC2005 would be
better for you since the person would not be using anything else that AB has
to offer. Since everything in AB as far as I know of is superior to
TC2005. The program would be over their heads and confusing to
them. There would be no need for the tremendous power that
AB has to offer, and would be better off with TC2005 if they just
wanted to scroll through charts and look at them
visually.
Just my opinion of
course

for you
That's the most ridiculous statement I heard recently. Do you
know that you can scroll through charts in AB FASTER than in ANY other
software product. Pick a watch list from symbol tree and just press CURSOR
DOWN key and voila - next chart. That's simple ! and much faster than
in TC2005 (you can scroll at least twenty times faster in
AmiBroker)

I have used
TC2005, VV, TradeStation Fastrack, and AB
My conclusion is they all
offer different solutions to different problems one is looking to solve with
a charting software package.
If you are looking for charts that you
can flip through fast and take a peek at each one then AB is not for you and
TC2005 is more your speed. If you are looking for a Software package
where there are numerous black box scans then VV is for you If you are
wanting a Software package that allows you to backtest, EOD data, and
numerous signals that you can produce then FT is more for you If you
are wanting a flexible software platform for backtesting-Out of Sample, and
the ability to chart anything you can imagine then AB would for
you
The above is just a small example I worked with each one for
about a year and no longer use TC2005 , TradeStation, or VV
Then
again that is me everyone is different and if we were not then there would
not be so many options for us

Thanks, for the replies. I tried a trial to VectorVest
Protrader and that was too slow. I want something as fast as TC2000. I'll
wait on Amibroker if it isn't as easy as TC2000. Maybe a future update
will help.
