The meaning of the cross hairs is twofold. First, you can use the cross hairs to find the Date with the Vertical hair and find the Price with the horizontal hair.
 
What you are looking for is either a Horizontal Bar or a Vertical Bar but with a behaviour like that of crosshair. I dont think cross hair was meant for that purpose.
 
To have only 1, draw Vertical or Horizontal lines at places where you require the same.
