Thanks for all these ideas! (I haven't tried to
flap my arms yet :-)
The AutoIT/ActiveX way takes more time since I
am not familiar with VB.
A DLL plugin or ODBC is overkill for my
purpose.
So I just used a plain file to transfer the
parameters. To speed things up, I use static variables in the formula to control
file access and cache values, so that it only needs to read the file once at the
beginning of BT/Explore.
