Hello Ken,

on a first view i see that you use sectorid for your indname, i assume you mean industryid()

IndName = CategoryGetName(categoryIndustry,SectorID());<<<<<<<<<Gets Industry Name 2nd way

Best Regards

Subject: [amibroker] Question Abouty Industry Name

Can someone answer this question: I have an exploration in which I seek to list Industry Names.  I get two different answers depending on the command I use for getting the industry names.

I want to use this in an Exploration of All Symbols (TC2005 db).

This code produces two different names for IndustryName.

Code:

AddTextColumn(FullName(),"FullName",1.0);
AddColumn(SectorID(),"SectorID",1.0);
AddTextColumn(SectorID(1),"SectorName1",1.0);  <<<<<<<<<<<<<< Gets Industry Name 1st Way
AddColumn(IndustryID(),"IndustryID",1.0);
AddTextColumn(IndustryID(1),"IndustryName1",1.0);
SecName = CategoryGetName(categorySector,SectorID());
IndName = CategoryGetName(categoryIndustry,SectorID());<<<<<<<<<Gets Industry Name 2nd way
AddTextColumn(SecName,"Sector Name2",1.2);
AddTextColumn(IndName,"IndustryName2",1.0);

Results in the AA window (once sorted) show different Industry Names via the "2nd" way.

Why?

Thanks for helping on this.

Ken
