There are many TA methods that do not use volume and
are useful for mutual funds. For example, look into trendlines,
stochastic, moving averages, Fibonacci patterns, momentum, candlestick patterns,
etc. You can also use indices as a proxy for specific mutual fund
categories. For example, Nasdaq 100 for an OTC fund, etc. The fact
that a mutual fund might use fundamental analysis (not all do) does not affect
your TA analysis which in a very real sense is evaluating how they are
doing.
