I normally
welcome EVERY new upgrade to AB, great progress has been made in the last couple
of years. This is the first time I am not so happy. I do not know enough to tell what the
future features will be, but right now the end result is more loss
of screen area.
Would consider making these
tabs user option to use window pull down menu or truly auto-hiding? (and
while at it, make the dockable toolbar (Layers,Charts,...) truly auto-hiding
a-la windows taskbar).
It makes little difference for
my desktop computer having 21" monitor, but, for my laptop the difference is
huge. I am already using window clasic style appearance so I can reduce the
fonts, buttons and scrollbars, and, a custom toolbar which combines all
my tool buttons with the menu bar.

OK, thanks TJ ! I guess I am a
dinosaur - still using IE6. 8 - )
BTW, when I hear your plans for the near future, it
sounds a lot like the new QP charting program. If it isn't prying, are you by
any chance writing that for them?

Subject: Re: [amibroker] AmiBroker 4.86.0
BETA released
Everybody,
Yes basically it does what you said.
But...
right now it does not make too much sense (if any) because
you don't see the reason why it was added.
In the future releases AB will open not only chart document
windows but also other types of documents
and then it will make perfect sense to have these tabs.
it says:
Promised new Account Manager functionality is still
under development and has been hidden/disabled in this release and it will
appear later in one of upcoming beta versions.
These tabs are just the extra feature that will used by new
features that are now HIDDEN from your eyes, because they are
still
under development. As I wrote in one of previous
e-mails, this beta was released in-the-middle of development process
because
of people waiting for built-in FFT function. So I had to
hide some in-development functionality but did not hide those tabs because I
was thinking
that they are pretty common ( at least among users of
by today's modern browsers like Firefox or Opera) and I was thinking that they
won't
confuse anyone.
So for time being - just forget that they exists.

4.86.0 BETA released
OK thanks. What functionality does this add? Is
it basically the ability to have multiple full-screen windows that are
tab-selectable? Sorry, I have not used these before to any
extent.
