It's probably asking for trouble, remember,
something IS corrupt.
cleaning up once in a while is GOOD.
You can try "save My settings" of all Microsoft office
applications (to your data disk).
after reinstall you'll be able to recover all your preferences/ customizations, BIG time saver (for me).
Few other
applications have that feature unfortunately.

I have my apps and data on different drives from
system, so am safe for loss of data.
Do you know if there is a way to automatically
register all applications so I won't have to re-install those also?
