I just asked tech support the same question but was hoping for some further assurance on this.
I'd like to set up 1 computer w/ the database and say 200 symbols. I may then have a 2nd computer running an automated system with one IB controller and 1 IB account. I may then have a 3rd computer running a different system to a different account. Therefore, all 3 will be querying the first machine's data. Does this work real time? If you run scans from 3 different computers does this in any way confuse the system since it typically updates data when it gets a scan, or is it only updating the data from the scan on first first system? Any input would be appreciatd. I am trying to minimize the number of different data subscriptions I need. --- In [email protected], "cstrader" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Sure.... works fine. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Herman > To: [email protected] > Sent: Thursday, October 26, 2006 3:33 PM > Subject: [amibroker] LAN Computers + IB RT-Data > > > did you guys ever run two computers and access the same TWS from both? > > My desktop computer died, have to install from recovery CDs... > > rest of the day is wasted :-( > > h > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Wes Smith > Sent: October 26, 2006 2:02 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [amibroker] LAN Computers + IB RT-Data > > > You can connect to a TWS on another computer. > File\Database\DatabaseSettings ... Configure .. and put the IP address of the computer running TWS. Typically I trade one or two computers and do developement on my laptop. I use my Real Account, Simulated account, and the eDemo account. This way of becoming RT funtional on each computer is not optimum and I would much prefer to have access to the same IB data on each of my computers.
