Sorry you feel that way. Maybe thats the problem. When the designer
blames to user for being confused, thats a sign that something is
wrong, and not with the user.

  I've only been using computers for 30 years, so bear with a newbie.

  Whatever your 'design' is, it's not intuitive.  A simple procedure
such as saving the layout of the CHART should not be so easy to screw
up.  

  The structure is convoluted.
