[amibroker] Hardware - processor speeds

I'm thinking of buying a new laptop with a 2gig processor. Currently, 
my old Sony VAIO (2001, 800 megs) does optimization calculations (e.g. 
500 steps) in 5 minutes! For those of you with modern kit, how fast are 
your systems? I'm interested to know how much faster modern equipment 
is.
