Thanks. Currently I am using two notebook computers with small screen to
watch all the charts.

I am thinking to buy a 24" LCD monitor so my eyes can be treated better. My
shortsightedness is getting worse. So, I plan to buy another desktop
computer because I already have enough notebook computers.

Thanks again.

Clement

Subject: Re: [amibroker] Get an Intel Quad CPU Q6600 to run Amibroker?

Hi Clement,

For many years I have been developing my own systems on an old Pentium
III-667 MHz :-) Computer and enjoy a pretty fast system: In my database
there are +7000 US stocks and various European securities stored.

The answer to your question is a definite NO! You do NOT need a new PC to
run AmiBroker smoothly. Save your money and wait for the successor of Vista
(code: Vienna; schedule: 8-2009). Then you will definitely need a new
machine for this future operating system if you intend to run AmiBroker
under Vienna and DirectX 11.

Cheers,

Udo

Hi, friends,

Intel has reduced the price of Q6600 by 50%. I am thinking to upgrade my
computer. Is it good to get a Q6600 to run Amibroker?

Please advise. TIA.

Clement
