Enter long - opens LONG trade (you BUY securities) See:

Enter short - opens SHORT trade (you SELL securities borrowed from your broker) 
See: 
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Short_%28finance%29

Exit long/short - close trades open using above entry rules
