AmiBroker also presents no bariers to syncing. The procedure described in the manual that you have read, easily allows to load layouts (including all modification to underlying formulas) created on any number of other machines without any conflicts, missing links, etc. Those machines do not even need same installation scheme (can use different drives, directory names, etc).
