The AFL class dunce is still here and trying to work through this.
Thanks for your reply Ed, but when I insert this in Explore it 
doesn't output anything.  If I change anything I'm back to my error 
message. 

All I want is to output the SIC number in Explore; seems so simple 
but I'm really frustrated I can't make it work.  What super simple 
thing is this non-programmer missing??
